Discus of Daedalus - final

Ammo: See Weapon

The Discus of Daedalus (commonly abbreviated to the Disc or known as the Discus)  is a ranged projectile weapon available in 1200.

The Discus of Daedalus when fired, will fly in the direction the player was aiming at. If an enemy is within proximity of the Discus as it is flying outward, then the Disc will home in on the enemy, and if successfully hit, will change its path to return to the player.

If a player is very close to a surface or enemy they will not throw the disk, but will perform a melee strike without throwing the disk. This makes a rapid attack at point blank, due to the fast animation, and without having to wait for the Discus to fly out and back.

The Discus will return to the player if it hits a surface, it hits an enemy, or it flies a set distance.

The Discus when thrown will travel slower underwater, but upon hitting an enemy or surface will return to the player at normal speed as if in air.

The Discus of Daedalus in the pre-alpha has a much different model than one in the final game. It appears much larger and is colored light beige and black and looks like a disc holder like-gun and holds the disc itself, which here is made out a odd blue stone with the sides of it being yellow, and lacks the blades on it. Obviously the weapon’s model also has different animations. It's entirely unrecognizable from the Discus' final first person model.

For some reason, the discus's projectile fired by the Discus has a completely different texture and model than one on the Discus of Daedalus's pre-alpha first person model - it is a stone texture with the side of a Greek warrior's head and looking nothing like the disc on Discus of Daedalus pre-alpha first person model. When it’s fired, it fires its blue and yellow disc, soon it will change into that stone model. Also the blades on the disc weren't implemented on either disc at the time.

It’s also worth noting the projectile fired by the Discus texture actually has a first person model in early screenshots of the game. This first person model appears to be pretty closer to Discus of Daedalus’ final model rather than the current used model in the Pre-Alpha.

Other than these differences though, the Discus of Daedalus functions the same in the final.
